In a significant shift, Saudi Pro League star Aleksandar Mitrović appears to be seeking a swift return to European football, just one year after his high-profile move to Al Hilal. The prolific Serbian striker, it is understood, has formally communicated his wish for a summer departure to the club's hierarchy.

With only one year remaining on his current contract, the Saudi giants have adopted a pragmatic stance and are not blocking his exit. In an effort to facilitate a transfer, the club has proactively offered the 30-year-old to top Serie A sides, specifically AC Milan and AS Roma.

Initial interest, however, has been tepid. Both Italian clubs have reportedly passed on the opportunity for now. Yet, the situation remains fluid, particularly for Roma. The Giallorossi are actively searching for attacking reinforcements and could reignite their pursuit of Mitrović should their primary transfer targets prove unattainable before the window slams shut, setting the stage for a potential late dramatic twist.
