N’Golo Kante said he feels proud of his time in the Saudi Pro League and described his experience there as positive and competitive.

Kante looks back on Saudi experience

France midfielder N'Golo Kante now playing for Fenerbahce has spoken openly about his spell in the Saudi Pro League confirming that he enjoyed his time and felt comfortable with the level of competition.

Kante joined Al Ittihad in summer 2023 and quickly became a key player in midfield. He remained important figure until leaving the club in January to return to Europe with Fenerbahce.

“I lived good days in Saudi Arabia”

In television comments, Kante said he had “a great period” in Saudi Arabia and felt good during his stay. He explained that he did not feel big difference in competitiveness compared to other leagues he has played in.

The World Cup winner added that the Saudi league included many difficult and intense matches. He stressed that the level of competition surprised him in positive way and made the experience enjoyable.

Return to Europe with new challenge

Kante also explained his decision to leave Saudi Arabia. He said returning to Europe through Fenerbahce was personal choice, driven by his desire for new challenge at this stage of his career.

The midfielder said he hopes things go well in Turkey and made it clear that his move was not linked to negative feelings about his previous club or the Saudi league.
