Santiago Giménez: "As a child, I dreamed of playing for AC Milan"
Interview
Signed from Feyenoord last winter for €32 million plus bonuses, Santiago Giménez is determined to make his mark at AC Milan.
Despite rumors of a summer departure, the Mexican striker insists he never considered leaving the Rossoneri. After a solid half-season (5 goals and 2 assists in 14 Serie A appearances), his future was called into question. Yesterday, Giménez got off the mark for the season, finding the net in a 3-0 Coppa Italia victory over Lecce. A confidence boost for the forward:
As a striker, you have to score. In recent matches, I've had chances but the ball just wouldn't go in. The most important thing is that the first goal comes—others will follow.
Proud to wear the Rossoneri shirt, he reaffirmed his commitment:
As a child, I dreamed of playing for AC Milan. I'm at my dream club and I want to achieve my goals here. I never thought about leaving.
