La Sénégalaise Fatma Samoura quittera son poste de Secrétaire Général de la FIFA à la fin de cette année 2023.
« Je tiens tout d’abord à remercier Gianni Infantino de m’avoir offert cette incroyable opportunité. Il m’a accordé sa confiance et apporté un formidable soutien tout en faisant toujours preuve d’une grande compréhension » a lancé la dame de fer dans une déclaration accordée à la presse mondiale.
« Aujourd’hui, notre instance est mieux dirigée, plus ouverte, plus fiable et plus transparente. Je quitterai la FIFA avec une grande fierté et le sentiment du devoir accompli » a-t-elle poursuivi.

En poste depuis 2016, Fatma Samoura a pleinement participé à la restructuration de la FIFA.
Par ailleurs, elle a joué un rôle prépondérant dans le renouveau de la CAF après l’éviction du Malgache Ahmad Ahmad de son poste de président.
