Egyptian international Mohamed Salah endured a difficult continental evening as Trabzonspor were dismantled 4-0 by Hungarian champions Ferencvaros at the Groupama Arena, officially crashing out of the UEFA Europa League playoffs.

A frustrating first half in Budapest

Starting on the right flank, Salah looked to ignite an early fightback after Trabzonspor entered the second leg tie trailing 1-0 on aggregate.

However, the Hungarian hosts maintained a compact, aggressive defensive shape that heavily restricted his trademark runs.

• 21st Minute: Salah attempted a direct run into the penalty box but Ferencváros' defensive density forced him to recycle possession backward
  
• 23rd Minute: The Egyptian curled an inviting corner kick into the box, which was effectively punched clear by the home goalkeeper
  
• 30th Minute: Salah drew a foul on the right touchline and voiced strong frustration to the referee, demanding a yellow card for the defender’s persistent fouling
  
• 44th Minute: On the brink of halftime, Salah nearly broke free on goal, but an alert combined challenge by the center-back and goalkeeper neutralized the danger

Second-Half disciplinary and defensive collapse

The match completely slipped away from the Turkish side shortly after the restart. Ferencváros struck their second goal of the evening in the 54th minute before earning a penalty in the 59th minute which resulted in a straight red card for Trabzonspor defender Sidney Cabral.

After converting the penalty to make it 3-0 on the night (4-0 on aggregate) with a man advantage, the contest was effectively decided.

Facing an insurmountable mountain, manager Fatih Tekke opted for damage control in the 64th minute, withdrawing Salah to preserve his fitness.
