2026 World Cup - France, Senegal, Norway: Didier Deschamps reacts

Didier Deschamps, head coach of Les Bleus, has also spoken out following the 2026 World Cup draw. The French manager sees a strong group with France, Senegal, and Norway.

Yesterday, the French national team learned about its opponents for the 2026 World Cup group stage: Senegal, Norway, and an intercontinental playoff winner (Bolivia, Iraq, or Suriname). After the ceremony, Didier Deschamps gave his first reaction.

"It's a strong, competitive group. We don't yet know our final opponent, but with Senegal and Norway, it's clear that Group I is one of the toughest, if not the toughest. It's the World Cup, we know what to expect. Now, we have some answers. We know two of our three opponents, the match dates, though not quite the venues yet, even if we already know the general area where we'll be playing," said the French coach.
