A big night for the Djurtus

The hosts caught their opponents off guard early on. In the 15th minute, Franculino Dju opened the scoring with an assist from Naga, sending Guinea-Bissau into half-time in front.

In the second half, Mama Baldé doubled the lead in the 66th minute after a pass from Mamadi Camara. The Stade Brest striker scored his second goal in the qualifiers, following his strike against Tanzania in the match that ended 2-0.

The show continued until the final minute, when Tamble Monteiro played the ball to Álvaro Djalo, who scored the third goal and finally ended Sékou Chelle's men's hopes, bringing the match to a 3-0 conclusion.

Guinea-Bissau move clear at the top of the group

Thanks to this 3-0 victory, Guinea-Bissau sit alone at the top of Group F with six points, three ahead of Nigeria. This follows their perfect start with a 2-0 win over Tanzania, confirming the strong start to the Djurtus' campaign. They are now the sole leaders and in a good position to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
