2028 Olympic Games qualifiers (women): Angola eliminate Namibia and reach the third round

It is done for Angola. The Palancas Negras beat Namibia 2-0 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda in the second leg of the second round of qualifying for the women's Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Angola make the difference in the second leg

After a tight first leg that ended 0-0, the Angolans made the difference on Monday at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda. Mila Domingas opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Maria Ponda doubled the lead in the 65th minute from the penalty spot. With this 2-0 success on aggregate, Angola continue their journey and qualify for the third round of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.

South Africa lie in wait

The next step promises to be a challenging one. South Africa appear to be the most likely opponents in the next round. The Banyana Banyana made a strong statement in the first leg by beating Madagascar 4-0. That emphatic victory has virtually opened the door to the third round for them.
