2028 Olympic qualifying (women): Nigeria get the job done against Comoros

After a disastrous Africa Cup of Nations and failing to qualify for the Women's World Cup, Nigeria are back in action. The Super Falcons beat Comoros 2-0 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne in the first leg of the second round of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers.

Alozie and Kanu make the difference

Michelle Alozie opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 48th minute. Gift Monday headed the ball towards Alozie. The Super Falcons defender finished the move to give Nigeria the lead. Uchenna Kanu doubled the advantage in the 59th minute. The forward produced a fine finish from a corner by Jennifer Echegini.

Nigeria get the job done in the second half

Nigeria delivered a better performance in the second half. The Super Falcons created more attacking chances than in a frustrating first half that ended 0-0. They found the net twice to secure a comfortable victory. Nigeria will face the women's CƓlacanthes in the second leg on Tuesday to secure their place in the third round and continue their quest for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
