The Rwandan football federation announced the appointment of expert Adel Amrouche as the coach of the first football team, noting that the coach succeeded weeks ago in winning his case against the African Football Federation by a decision of the court of Arbitration for Sport, which canceled the previous CAF penalty on the grounds of his statements criticizing the authority of the Moroccan Football Federation.
Algerian Habir has taken over from German Torsten Spittler, who left the team after the expiration of his contract, the Rwandan football federation announced.
"We are pleased to announce to the sports public, the appointment of Adel Amrouche as the new head coach of the first Rwandan national team. He will be assisted by Eric Nshimiyimana and Caroline Brune". The signing ceremony of the two-year contract took place at the headquarters of the Rwandan football federation in Kigali.

The new coach has a difficult task to qualify the national team to the finals of the 2026 World Cup at a time when the Rwandan national team occupies its group with South Africa and Benin with 7 points, but they could not qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco after they finished the group stage with 8 points in third place.
