The road to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations begins for Togo. Placed in Group I alongside Algeria, Zambia, and Burundi, the Sparrowhawks now know their opening fixtures for the September window.

After years away from the continental stage, Togo are aiming for a return to the finals. Their last appearance dates back to 2017 in Gabon, where the Togolese side exited at the group stage after a final clash with DR Congo.

Opening whistle in Kégué against Burundi

The first fixture is set for September 25, 2026. Togo will host Burundi at the Kégué Stadium. Kick-off is at 16:00 GMT. For coach Patrice Neveu and his squad, the objective is clear: start strong and secure points at home. A win in this opener would provide the perfect launchpad and inject the squad with crucial confidence.

Next stop: Ndola for the Zambia challenge

Four days later, the Sparrowhawks hit the road. On September 29, they travel to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola to face Zambia. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 local time, which is 16:00 GMT. A much tougher opponent awaits the Togolese side.

Between the two clashes, it will be vital for Togo to maintain momentum and confirm their strong start. Group I promises fierce and demanding battles. Togo will need to show real resilience if they hope to book their return ticket to the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
