Due to the ongoing crisis in Sudan & the suspension of domestic competitions, FIFA & CAF approved exceptional request from the Mauritanian Football Federation to allow Al Hilal & Al Merrikh to join the local league.
This unprecedented move offered Sudanese clubs lifeline to stay competitive during national instability.
Al Hilal’s Title Deciding Victory
On Sunday Al Hilal sealed their honorary title with hard fought 2 - 1 win over ASC Gendrim. Goals from Ahmed Salem & Aime Tendeng secured the vital three points placing the Sudanese giants at the top of the league table at the season's close.
Official Champions Remain FC Nouadhibou
Despite Al Hilal’s achievement, FC Nouadhibou remains the official 2024 Mauritanian league champion having secured the title on Saturday with 2 - 0 win over Inter Nouakchott.
