Alex Teixeira makes his return to Europe

At 36, Alex Teixeira surprises everyone with a comeback to European football. The former striker of Shakhtar Donetsk and Beşiktaş has signed a six-month contract with Greek side Panserraikos, currently sitting at the bottom of the league table.

Teixeira boasts an impressive résumé: 89 goals and 25 assists in 223 matches for Shakhtar, a big-money move to China worth €50 million, a season in Turkey, and then a return to Brazil.
His role at Panserraikos will be crucial in their fight for survival. A strong showing could open the door to another European club this summer.
