Bad news for Vozinha

Vozinha's arrival at Colo-Colo is far from guaranteed. The Cape Verdean goalkeeper was reportedly close to joining the Chilean club, but recent talks have complicated the deal.

Vozinha made his name on the world stage during the 2026 World Cup. With Cape Verde, he delivered some standout performances, keeping two clean sheets against Spain and Saudi Arabia in the group stage. At 40 years old, the keeper remains highly regarded for his experience and popularity. His Instagram account soared to nearly 29 million followers after the World Cup.

A free agent since leaving GD Chaves in Portugal, Vozinha was able to join a new club without a transfer fee. Colo-Colo, multiple-time Chilean champions, had shown serious interest in him. But according to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer now appears to be on the brink of collapse. The Chilean club has reportedly shifted its focus and is now more interested in Santiago Mele, the 28-year-old Uruguayan goalkeeper currently playing for CF Monterrey. Vozinha will have to wait a bit longer to find out where his next destination will be.
