As renovation work at Camp Nou continues, FC Barcelona is already planning for a possible return to Montjuïc for the first half of the 2027-2028 season.

The Catalan club is getting ahead of the next stage of its stadium overhaul. According to Spanish media, the Blaugrana board has officially approached LaLiga to request permission to play the entire first half of the 2027-2028 campaign at Montjuïc.

This move is explained by the scheduled start in June 2027 of the installation of the new stadium's roof, a project expected to last around four and a half months. Although the works are slated to finish by mid-October, Barça is looking to preempt any potential delays that could disrupt their sporting calendar.

This solution would also allow all home fixtures, including European matches, to be centralized in a single venue, in line with UEFA requirements. At the same time, the gradual opening of part of the third tier remains a possibility during the same season, pending municipal approval.
