Bayern Munich are tracking this Brighton wonderkid
Luka Vušković continues to progress at remarkable speed. After an impressive season in the Bundesliga with Hamburg, the young Croatian centre-back has established himself as a starter at Brighton. His performances have reportedly now attracted the attention of Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich are monitoring Vušković’s progress
Signed by Tottenham from Hajduk Split in the summer of 2025, Luka Vušković was immediately loaned to Hamburg to continue his development in Germany. The 19-year-old defender quickly stood out for the German club, scoring 6 goals in 28 Bundesliga matches. His performances subsequently sparked the interest of several clubs, and Brighton won the race to secure his services this season. The Croatia international quickly lived up to expectations with a convincing start to the season in England.
Across eight matches in all competitions, Vušković already has one goal and one assist. His progress has also earned him a place in the Croatia squad. He currently has 10 caps and one goal for his country. According to Bild, Bayern Munich have now begun closely monitoring the defender.
A transfer dependent on a defender’s departure
Bayern’s interest would nevertheless remain conditional on a departure in the defensive department. Bayern would only consider a move for Vušković if another centre-back left the club next year. In that eventuality, the Croatian would be considered a serious option by the German giants. Vušković, for his part, would also be interested in the possibility of joining Bayern Munich.
The situation therefore remains at a preliminary stage. The defender is currently under contract with Tottenham until 2031, with an additional year as an option, putting the London club in a strong position in any potential negotiations.
Our analysis
Bayern’s interest in Vušković reflects the logic of a club that must regularly anticipate the renewal of its squad. At just 19, the Croatian already has significant experience in the Bundesliga and now knows the demands of international football. His profile is particularly appealing given his precocious development and ability to contribute offensively.
However, a move to Bayern would depend above all on the future make-up of the Bavarian defence. Until a departure frees up a place, this remains nothing more than interest to monitor. For Vušković, continuing his development as a starter at Brighton could be decisive before considering the next step in his career. In the short term, Tottenham retain one major advantage: a long-term contract that allows them to control the situation surrounding the young defender.
