The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will conduct the draw for the first and second preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League (2026-2027 edition) this Thursday at 11:00 GMT.

The ceremony will take place at CAF headquarters in Cairo, with representatives from the 64 qualified clubs attending this new edition of the competition.

The first preliminary round will take place from September 4 to 13, while the second is scheduled from October 16 to 25. The group stage kicks off on November 27 and 28, before the knockout rounds set between February and April 2027.

However, CAF has yet to confirm the date of the final. The African body has only indicated that it will be contested between May 9 and 31, 2027.

Reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns will start this new campaign with the ambition of defending their continental crown. Meanwhile, USM Alger, who lifted the CAF Confederation Cup, will also be there for this 2026-2027 edition.
