SC didn’t hold back. At the Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, the Tanzanian giants thrashed Mighty Wanderers 6-1 to secure a resounding qualification for the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

A goal fest in Dar es Salaam

After a narrow 1-0 win in the first leg, Simba SC dominated Mighty Wanderers from start to finish. Lamine Gueye and Clatous Chama each scored a brace. The 6-1 scoreline perfectly reflects the dominance of the Dar es Salaam side. Simba progressed 7-1 on aggregate.

On to Equatorial Guinea

This qualification for the second round of the CAF Champions League sends out a strong signal. Having been knocked out in the group stage last season after finishing bottom of Group D behind Petro de Luanda, Espérance Sportive de Tunis and a surprise package, Stade Malien, the Wekundu wa Msimbazi are out for revenge this year.

In the second and final round before the knockout stage, Simba will face 15 de Agosto of Equatorial Guinea, who knocked out Famboni FC of the Comoros.
