CAN 2032: Guinea has made a proposal to Senegal

Guinea is preparing to submit its bid for CAN 2032. The Guinean Football Federation has reportedly proposed a joint venture with Senegal.

According to multiple Senegalese sources, FEGUIFOOT has sent an official letter to the Senegalese Football Federation, proposing to co-host CAN 2032. Guinea highlights several key arguments: the geographic proximity between the two nations, the opportunity to pool infrastructure and logistical resources, as well as the deep historical ties between Conakry and Dakar.

The two countries, Senegal and Guinea, indeed share a long regional and human history, strengthened by significant population movements, close economic links, and deep cultural connections between certain communities on both sides of the border. A joint candidacy would allow the costs of a tournament—now extremely demanding in terms of stadiums, transportation, accommodation, and overall organization—to be shared.

It should be noted that this potential alliance won’t be the only contender. Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have already expressed their intention to submit a joint bid under the AES banner. The race for 2032 is shaping up to be a truly West African affair.
