Fiorentina: David De Gea set for contract extension

David De Gea could continue his adventure in Italy beyond the date set out in his current contract. According to Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina could submit a new offer to their goalkeeper in the coming months.

Fiorentina want to secure his future

The Florence club had already extended De Gea’s contract in May 2025. On that occasion, the Spanish goalkeeper agreed to remain until 2028, along with an increase in his annual salary from €2.4 million to €3 million.

The club’s management could now seek to extend that deadline further in order to keep the player for a longer period. For now, no specific negotiations regarding the length of a potential new agreement have been reported.

An important figure since his arrival

Having arrived in summer 2024 after leaving Manchester United, De Gea gradually found his place in the Fiorentina squad. At 35, he remains an important member of the group, which could explain the club’s desire to consider another contract extension.

The coming months should provide more insight into Fiorentina’s intentions. No agreement has been announced, however, and the goalkeeper is currently under contract with the club until 2028.
