Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota made his Petrojet Suez debut in the Egyptian Premier League 3-2 defeat to Tala'ea El Gaish on Wednesday.

The speedy winger entered the fray as a second half substitute in the 68th minute, replacing Badr Moussa, with his team 3-1 down.

His introduction was not enough to save his new employers from defeat as they currently sit in 14th place on the log standings, with one point picked up.

He signed a two-year deal on a free transfer after parting ways with Betway Premiership side Siwelele following a brief spell at the club.

Sekgota had joined the Bloemfontein-based outfit in January, making eight appearances across all competitions, and scored on his debut for the club.

The 29-year-old attacker also turned out for Stellenbosch FC and was part of the squad that won the Carling Knockout Cup in the 2023/24 campaign.

During his time at Chiefs, Sekgota played 48 games and chipped in with two assists before his career went downhill, owing to personal issues.

Whether the former Bafana international will rediscover his form in the Egyptian Premier League remains to be seen, having overcome his personal issues.
