Ivorian Ligue 2: Africa Sports revive, LYS Sassandra take the lead

The second matchday of the Ivorian Ligue 2 was marked by Africa Sports d’Abidjan’s response in Group A and LYS Sassandra’s confirmation of their strong start in Group B. Both teams recorded important victories, while Nour FC also stood out with a convincing win.

Africa Sports find their form

After a goalless draw (0-0) against Leader SC Marcory on the opening matchday, Africa Sports d’Abidjan secured their first win of the season. Playing away in Divo, the Aiglons beat AS Divo 3-1.

Despite falling behind, the Green and Reds showed character to turn the game around. Koffi N’Dah levelled the score in the 20th minute, before Yohou Boris scored twice in the 40th and 49th minutes.

Thanks to this victory, Africa Sports now have four points and sit second in Group A, behind Leader Foot AC, who defeated Leader SC Marcory 3-0.

In the other matches in the group, CO Bouaflé won a thrilling game against AS Denguelé (4-3). Don Koff FC edged Lanfiara SA (1-0), while AS Athletic overcame JAC d’Angré (3-2). Sirocco FC and FC OSA drew (1-1), while AS Tanda and SC Gagnoa shared the points (0-0).

LYS Sassandra keep winning in Group B

In Group B, LYS Sassandra are continuing their excellent start to the season. The Limanes recorded a second consecutive victory by overcoming Séwé FC in a closely contested match, winning 3-2.

Abdul opened the scoring in the 25th minute, before Lasme doubled the lead in the 61st minute. Mojamed then scored his team’s third goal in stoppage time, in the 90th+1 minute, allowing LYS Sassandra to seal the victory.

With six points from two matchdays, the Sassandra club move to the top of Group B. They lead Nour FC, who produced one of the standout performances of the matchday by thrashing ESP Issia 4-0.

For their part, Issia Wazy FC defeated WAC d’Adjamé (1-0), while RFC Aboisso beat Racing Club (2-1). Deux Plateaux FC overcame JAC Zuénoula (3-1), and Agir Guibéroua defeated ES Bingerville (1-0).

Atlantis FC and Siguilolo FC set to meet on Tuesday

The second matchday of Ligue 2 continues on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, with the Group B encounter between Atlantis FC and Siguilolo FC. The fixture will complete the programme for a matchday that has already allowed several promotion contenders to show their ambitions.
