Jean-Pierre Nsame struggling at Pogoń Szczecin
Jean-Pierre Nsame is going through a difficult period at Pogoń Szczecin. Having arrived after leaving Legia Warsaw, the Cameroonian striker is struggling to convince his new coach, Óscar García. According to Szymon Janczyk, a journalist for Meczyki.pl, his profile reportedly does not fully match the Spanish coach’s tactical requirements.
A disappointing start to his spell
After a mixed spell at Legia Warsaw, Jean-Pierre Nsame joined Pogoń Szczecin with the ambition of reviving his career in Poland. But his first few months have fallen well short of expectations. According to the reported data, the Cameroonian centre-forward has played only four matches, for a total of 161 minutes, with zero goals and zero assists.
This limited use is reportedly explained in particular by tactical considerations. Speaking on the Meczyki.pl channel, Szymon Janczyk gave a harsh assessment of the Cameroonian’s situation:
At this stage, he is useless in this setup.
The journalist believes that Nsame’s profile only moderately fits the coach’s playing ideas. This situation could further complicate his quest for playing time.
Jordi Sánchez takes the lead
Competition in attack represents another obstacle for Nsame. Jordi Sánchez, signed from Wisła Kraków, scored in each of his first two appearances for Pogoń. The Spaniard therefore appears to have moved ahead in Óscar García’s attacking pecking order.
The coach also has other options, notably Filip Čuić and Paul Mukairu, who has also been used up front. Rajmund Molnár is gradually returning to his best level and could also add to the competition. Under these circumstances, Nsame will have to quickly show that he can offer his coach a different option.
