Lazio: set to extend Fisayo Dele-Bashiru
Lazio are looking to secure Fisayo Dele-Bashiru’s future. According to reports, the Italian club plans to step up discussions with the Nigerian midfielder in December, with the aim of offering him a contract extension accompanied by a salary increase.
Talks expected in December
Aged 25, Dele-Bashiru is currently under contract with Lazio until June 2028. Having joined the club in summer 2025, the midfielder is among the players whose contractual situation could change in the coming months.
The Rome-based club would like to clarify his future before the winter transfer window opens in January. The discussions should notably make it possible to assess the terms of a contract extension and an improvement to his salary.
Nigerian international attracting interest abroad
Dele-Bashiru has won 19 caps for Nigeria, scoring two goals. His market value is estimated at €6 million. The player has also previously been linked with Manchester United. By seeking to move forward on the matter as early as December, Lazio want to prevent uncertainty surrounding their midfielder from persisting as the winter window approaches.
The next steps will depend on discussions between the club’s executives and the player. An extension would allow the club to further secure its investment, while a salary increase could acknowledge Dele-Bashiru’s role in the Rome-based project.
