The scoreline shifted quickly in the 5th minute when Hugo Ekitike pounced on a poorly cleared ball to open the scoring. In the 24th minute, captain Virgil van Dijk doubled the advantage with a powerful header from a corner, a goal confirmed after a brief VAR check.

Just before the interval, Alexis Mac Allister sealed Liverpool’s dominance by netting the third. Despite a few attempts to respond—most notably from Summerville—West Ham found themselves up against a rock-solid defence and a Liverpool side firmly in control.
