Saudi giants Al Hilal've reached agreement with Serbian forward Aleksandar Mitrovic to terminate his contract by mutual consent, journalist Santi Aouna's confirmed.

The 30 year old striker's now set to sign for Qatari side Al Rayyan on contract worth close to 10 million dollar per season.

Exit cleared after Nunez arrival

Mitrovic who joined Al Hilal from Fulham in the summer of 2023, fell out of coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans following the club’s big money signing of Darwin Nunez from Liverpool.

The striker struggled with injuries throughout the 2024 /25 campaign missing large spells of action and failing to feature in the Club World cup.

Glittering record in Saudi Arabia

Despite his injury hit final season, Mitrovic leaves with impressive record. He won domestic treble with Al Hilal in 2023 /24 lifting the Saudi Pro League, King’s Cup and Super cup.

Across all competitions, he played 79 matches scored 68 goal and provided 15 assists. His highlights include three hat tricks and 10 braces.

Among Al Hilal’s best foreign scorers

Mitrovic departs as the third highest scoring foreigner in Al Hilal’s history with 86 goal trailing only Bafetimbi Gomis (116) & Carlos Eduardo (81).
