Netherlands: Cody Gakpo ruled out for the rest of the international window (Official)

It appears to be an international break plagued by injuries. Cody Gakpo joined the long list of injured players this Sunday during the match against Serbia.

The Liverpool forward was violently brought down by a Serbian defender. Having scored against Germany a few days earlier, Cody Gakpo saw his ankle remain stuck to the ground.

On Monday afternoon, the Oranje announced that Cody Gakpo was forced to leave the Netherlands' camp. “Cody Gakpo will not be available for the remainder of the international period. The forward was injured on Sunday during the away match against Serbia (1-2) and is returning to his club, Liverpool. No replacement will be called up for Gakpo. The Oranje will face Greece on Thursday in Thessaloniki and will conclude this international period on Sunday, October 4, with a home match against Serbia at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven,” read the statement.
