The new FIFA ranking for the month of October has been released, bringing several major changes across the African continent. Thanks to their recent performances, several African football giants have gained valuable points in the global hierarchy, confirming their rise in power as the 2025 AFCON approaches.

Here is the updated African Top 10:

  1. Morocco (12th worldwide, -1)
  2. Senegal (18th, +0)
  3. Egypt (32nd, +3)
  4. Algeria (35th, +3)
  5. Nigeria (41st, +4)
  6. Ivory Coast (42nd, +2)
  7. Tunisia (43rd, +3)
  8. Mali (53rd, +3)
  9. Cameroon (54th, -2)
  10. South Africa (59th, -4)

Still the leading African side, Morocco retains its top spot despite a slight drop in the world ranking, while Algeria posts one of the most impressive climbs by moving up three places. Nigeria and Tunisia have also made significant jumps. On the other hand, Cameroon and South Africa have suffered an alarming decline. With just two months to go until AFCON, the hierarchy is tightening, promising an African competition of the highest level.
