The Congolese coach chooses to extend his contract in Tanzania until 2028.

While he was a top candidate to take the helm of the Mali national team, Florent Ibenge ultimately decided to turn down the Eagles’ offer. The Congolese coach opted for continuity with Azam FC, recently signing a two-year contract extension.

Since taking charge of Azam FC in the summer of 2025, Florent Ibenge has shown unwavering commitment to the club’s project. And the results speak volumes: after 25 rounds of the Tanzanian Premier League, Azam FC has firmly established itself on the podium, delivering attractive and well-organized football.
