Al Ahly have officially completed the signing of 18 year old talent Mahmoud Salah from Ghazl El Mahalla on a five year contract.

Five year deal for Ghazl El Mahalla prodigy

Al Ahly confirmed the acquisition on Thursday evening in an official statement published across their social media channels. The club’s head of contracts, Essam Serageldin, finalised all financial and administrative details in direct coordination with director of football Wael Gomaa.

The arrival of the teenage prospect marks Al Ahly’s sixth signing of an active summer transfer window. The Cairo giants have already bolstered their ranks with the additions of Mounsef Bakrar, Soufiane Benjdida, Ali Mahmoud and Aqtay Abdallah, in addition to bringing back versatile midfielder Akram Tawfik.

Reinforcements follow Belammari injury setback

The move coincides with squad adjustments prompted by a major injury blow to Moroccan left back Youssef Belammari who sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Belammari, who arrived at the club from Raja CA during the winter transfer window and is under contract until 2029, faces an extended period on the sidelines.

To provide specialized depth on the left flank during Belammari's recovery, Egyptian outlet Youm7 reports that Al Ahly have secured approval from Petrojet to sign left back Tawfik Mohamed.

Al Ahly's proactive recruitment drive demonstrates a clear strategy of balancing long term talent acquisition with immediate squad stability. Securing Salah on a five year commitment allows the club to nurture one of the country's promising teenage prospects within a winning environment.

Simultaneously, swiftly addressing the defensive void left by Belammari's injury ensures the squad maintains the necessary depth to compete across domestic and continental competitions.
