Official: Cameroon will not play friendly matches in June
The news has just come in. Cameroon will not play any friendly matches during the FIFA window in June 2026, according to an official statement issued by the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT).
The statement explains that head coach David Pagou has decided not to schedule any training camp or matches for the Cameroonian national team in June 2026.
The main goal is to grant players a well-deserved rest after a long and exhausting season, in preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The technical staff believes this break will boost the team's preparations for upcoming challenges, especially with the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers set to kick off in September.
Cameroon will compete in Group G alongside Comoros, Namibia, and the Republic of Congo.
