It’s official: Seko Fofana is back at FC Porto this Wednesday.

The Portuguese club announced on Wednesday the return of the Ivorian international for the upcoming season. Just like in January, Seko Fofana arrives on loan. The former Lens midfielder left a strong impression during his first stint in Portugal (18 matches, 3 goals) and is now set to experience the Champions League under the guidance of Francesco Farioli.

“Seko Fofana is once again loaned by Rennes. The Ivorian midfielder’s adventure with FC Porto isn’t over—in fact, it’s just getting started. After joining the squad under Francesco Farioli between February and May, the 31-year-old returns to the club, sent on loan by French side Stade Rennais until the end of the season,” FC Porto announced.

Bought for €20 million from Al-Nassr in January 2025, Fofana remains under contract with Rennes until 2029.
