Patrice Motsepe: Mohamed Salah Deserves the Ballon d’Or

Confederation of African Football CAF president Patrice Motsepe's declared that Mohamed Salah deserves to win the Ballon d’or based on his incredible performances this season.

Salah’s Spectacular Season

The Liverpool forward has been in sensational form scoring 32 goal and providing 22 assist in 42 appearance across all competitions. His contributions have put Liverpool in pole position to reclaim the Premier League title, as they lead the standings by 15 point over Arsenal who have game in hand.

Additionally Salah's the chance to lift silverware when Liverpool faces Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.

A Historic Claim for the Ballon d’Or

Despite his stellar campaign, Liverpool’s elimination from the UCL Round of 16 on penalties against Paris Saint Germain could be setback in his Ballon d’Or bid.

However Motsepe firmly believes Salah's the rightful winner:

“Salah deserves the Ballon d’Or 100%, He makes us proud and is exceptional player. Nothing would make us happier than seeing one of Africa’s own, Mohamed Salah, win the Ballon d’or” he told On Time Sports.

Salah recently equaled Sergio Aguero’s record as the highest scoring foreign player in Premier League history with 184 goals.
