Portugal: Cristiano Ronaldo affair, his mother in shock
The Cristiano Ronaldo affair is still making headlines in Portugal. The Al Nassr captain’s mother has finally spoken out.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the Portugal squad during the week deeply affected his mother, Dolores Aveiro. While the Al Nassr forward publicly denounced the behaviour of his manager, Jorge Jesus, Dolores Aveiro shared her sadness with TV7 Dias.
Completely devastated by the turn of events, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother regrets that her son was unable to bring his story with the Seleção to an end in better circumstances. "I’m sad, it’s normal. It was a shock. My son could have left through the main door, but instead he left through the side door. But it doesn’t matter, God will take care of it... I cried a little. It’s also good to let go. Now we have to move forward," Dolores Aveiro said, before returning to their phone conversation. "He told me: ‘Mum, don’t worry, I’ll tell the truth when we are all together.’ I replied: ‘All right, my son, turn the page.’ I told him to take it slowly, but that’s what he decided to do," Dolores Aveiro recounted.
