Real Madrid resume their LaLiga campaign tomorrow. Los Blancos host Villarreal. In this context, Portuguese coach José Mourinho has announced his squad.

This Friday, Real Madrid definitively put an end to the doubts surrounding Kylian Mbappé. The France captain was injured during France's win in Turkey and returned to Madrid early. The French centre-forward has ultimately recovered from his knee injury. The former PSG player is fit to face Villarreal in LaLiga on Saturday evening.

Mourinho defends his star

Released to his club by France, Kylian Mbappé is at the centre of controversy, with some Real Madrid observers scrutinising his every move. At a press conference this Friday, José Mourinho notably hit back and denied any tension with the 27-year-old player.

"Exaggerated? It’s ridiculous! I will always defend a footballer. He is a human being, a boy who can make mistakes. (...) Kylian was there, he underwent tests and consulted an outside specialist about his knee. He followed a recovery programme whose details you do not need to know. You went looking for problems. You talked about the nightclub, then the cycling episode. Afterwards, you moved on to less serious cases, such as Dean Huijsen. I find it ridiculous. (...) It’s the first time in ten years that we haven’t had any injuries, apart from long-term absentees. It’s a nice story, but you don’t like it," Mourinho said at the press conference.
