Real Madrid: Vinicius Jr, José Mourinho makes a confession
During Tuesday’s press conference, José Mourinho addressed the controversy surrounding Vinicius Jr on Espanyol Barcelona’s pitch (2-1) last Saturday. The coach made a revealing confession.
José Mourinho lamented the numerous fouls committed against his winger Vinicius Jr during the match. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the Portuguese tactician also denounced the special treatment given to the Brazilian international.
"What I can say is that the difference in treatment between Vini and other players is obvious. There’s a dynamic now—opponents know they can take advantage and they do. It’s like with children: they’ll push as far as you let them. If the card only comes after ten fouls, they’ll rough him up. It’s an attitude I don’t like. Vini could have better control, but he was kicked in a way that was an assault—it should have been a red card. But I trust Spanish refereeing," explained the Special One.
Mourinho gives an update on Real Madrid’s transfer window
Very active in this summer’s transfer market, Real Madrid continue to be the subject of rumors about a possible midfield signing. Mourinho gave an update on the situation.
"For me, it’s done, but the market is still open. You never know if a player will come and say he wants to leave. In principle, no, but it’s something that could happen. In my mind, it’s finished and I haven’t received any requests. I’m happy. I’d like to keep this squad for the season," the Portuguese coach admitted.
