Romain Folz stretched his unbeaten run at the helm of US Monastir to six games in the league after a 1-0 win over PS Sakiet Eddaier over the weekend.

Monastir are currently in third place on the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1, having accumulated 12 points from their opening six outings.

With three wins and as many draws, Folz's men trail log leaders Ben Guerdane with two points, and are level on points with second-placed Esperance de Tunis.

The 36-year-old highly-rated French tactician was appointed in July on a one-year deal that's set to run until June 2027.

His appointment came almost a year after his exit at Tanzanian giants Young Africans, where he was shown the exit door three months into the job.

Folz oversaw four matches in charge of Yanga, with his sacking the result of a shock defeat to Silver Stars of Malawi in the CAF Champions League.

Notably, the former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant also coached AmaZulu FC, Marumo Gallants, Horoya AC, and Township Rollers, among other teams.

With Monastir yet to taste league glory, Folz has been entrusted with achieving the feat and winning domestic cup titles in the process.
