Rudy Matondo is close to renewing his contract with Paris FC.
Paris FC are building for tomorrow, and they intend to do so with Rudy Matondo at the heart of their plans. On Thursday, the 18-year-old midfielder put pen to paper on a contract extension that ties him to the Parisian club until 2030 — a move that underscores just how central the young France youth international has become to the PFC project.
A commitment foreseen from the very beginning
There was nothing unexpected about this extension. When Paris FC recruited him from AJ Auxerre in January 2026 for €17 million, the intention was always for the long haul. But as a minor at the time, Matondo could not commit beyond 2028 under the regulations governing players of his age.
The arrangement was therefore clear from the outset: once he reached adulthood, the player would sign a longer deal with the club majority-owned by the Arnault family. That moment has now arrived. On Thursday, Paris FC made the extension official on their website, securing one of their most promising young talents until 2030.
A notable arrival in Ligue 1
Matondo wasted little time justifying the expectations placed upon him. Within his first months in the capital, he quickly carved out a place in the Parisian rotation, featuring in 11 Ligue 1 matches — eight of them as a starter — under the guidance of Antoine Kombouaré..
Since the arrival of Liam Rosenior, the young midfielder has not always been guaranteed a place in the starting eleven. Nevertheless, he remains an important part of the midfield rotation this season, a clear sign that the staff are counting on him to contribute to the club's ambitions.
At 18, Matondo still has considerable room to grow. By offering him a contract until 2030, Paris FC are sending an unmistakable message of confidence, intent on continuing his development in an environment he already knows well.
