TS Galaxy interim coach Esau Mtsweni has tipped Seluleko Mahlambi for a bright future following a breakout 2025/26 campaign, where he caught the eye of several suitors.
The 22-year-old winger proved instrumental for the Rockets last season, scoring six goals while registering as many assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
Tim Sukazi, the club's chairman, recently revealed on SNAWA that Kaizer Chiefs tabled an offer worth R4 million for the young attacker, which was rebuffed as the player is valued in the region of R10 million.
While Mahlambi is yet to get on the score sheet or set up a teammate in six matches thus far this season, Mtsweni believes he is destined for a successful career at the highest level.
“Mahlambi is a very good player for us and I see a bright future ahead of him, but not only him, we've got other good young players at the club. We have a mixture of senior players and the youngsters,” said the caretaker coach.
"But for Mahlambi, he's a very good player for us, he's very important for us. I see a very bright future ahead of him.
With Galaxy still finalizing the appointment of a new head coach, the former Black Aces midfielder set the record straight that he's still in charge of the reserve team, and says a host of youngsters are in line for a promotion.
“I'm still the head coach of DDC and we're playing against Sundowns on Sunday. There's a couple of players that we're still working on, and hopefully they'll join the team around January, maybe two or three of them,” Mtsweni added.
"We promoted six of them last season, and as a team that believes in youngsters, there are some good players that are coming sooner than later.
TS Galaxy return to action with a Carling Knockout Cup round of 16 clash against Chiefs, before tackling Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership on Saturday, 31 October.
