Steve Barker's Simba SC powered to a 3-0 win over relegation-threatened Mtibwa Sugar in the NBC Tanzania Premier League on Wednesday afternoon.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rushine de Reuck broke the deadlock after converting from the spot in the 9th minute to make it two goals in the last two outings.

Tanzanian striker Selemani Mwalimu, who's on loan from Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, doubled the lead in the 77th minute.

Ex-Stellenbosch FC midfielder Anicet Oura put the game to bed in the 90th minute, ensuring the Reds of Msimbazi walk away with maximum points on the road.

Simba remain second on the log standings having accumulated 67 points in 28 matches, with just two fixtures remaining in the heated title race.

Meanwhile, log leaders and fierce rivals Young Africans dispatched Florent Ibenge's Azam FC 3-0 , avenging their defeat in the CRDB Bank Federation Cup on Sunday.

Yanga are two points clear at the summit of the NBC Premier League table with 69 points amassed as they look to clinch a fifth consecutive championship.

Having been tasked with toppling Yanga, Barker will now prepare his troops for a tie against Singida Black Stars on Saturday, while the table toppers welcome TRA United.
