Yankuba Minteh still hopes to join Liverpool

Liverpool could see Yankuba Minteh return to its list of targets during the next transfer window. According to Sport Witness, the Gambia international still wants to join the Reds, despite the lack of an agreement with Brighton during the last transfer window.

A transfer that fell through during the summer

Liverpool had made signing a right winger one of its summer objectives. The English club notably tried to recruit Yankuba Minteh, but talks with Brighton did not lead to an agreement. Ismaïla Sarr was also among the players targeted, without an agreement being reached with Crystal Palace.

The Reds reportedly made several offers for the Gambian winger, with the highest estimated at £60 million. Despite this interest, Minteh ultimately remained at Brighton.

Baboucarr Fallaboweh, a specialist in Gambian football, claims that the player has not changed his mind about his next destination. But a possible move in January will depend above all on the position of the Reds' leadership and their willingness to resume negotiations with Brighton.
