Zamalek: Yannick Ferrera set to succeed José Peseiro
Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera is on the verge of becoming the new head coach of Zamalek SC. The 44-year-old tactician will take over from José Peseiro, who was dismissed following the Egyptian club’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup.
According to information from El Balad, as reported by journalist Ahmed Hassan, Yannick Ferrera has signed a one-year contract with the Cairo-based club. His monthly salary, which includes that of his entire technical staff, amounts to $55,000, or roughly €51,500.
The staff set to accompany Ferrera at the White Castle is also confirmed:
- Pierre Bahrel: assistant coach
- Julien Lagoux: performance analyst
- Yugoslav Lazic: goalkeeping coach
- Glenn Vercauteren: fitness coach
Before kicking off the 2025/26 season, Zamalek plans to hold a pre-season training camp in Cairo, following the schedule drawn up by Ferrera. The aim: to get the squad back up to speed and launch a new cycle after a disappointing continental campaign.
