European football's governing body UEFA will distribute approximately €2.4 billion ($2.8 billion) to clubs participating in the 2026 /27 UEFA Champions League, according to official distribution documents released by the confederation.

Guaranteed participation and League phase allocations

Under the distribution model, each of the 36 club competing in the unified single league phase is guaranteed a starting participation bonus slightly exceeding €18 million.

Clubs eliminated in the summer play-off round and subsequently transferred into the UEFA Europa League will receive a consolidation payout of €4.2 million. The secondary continental tournament remains significantly less lucrative, operating with an overall prize pool capped at €565 million.

Performance bonuses & knockout escalation

In addition to base entry fees, UEFA maintains a strict performance-related bonus ladder throughout the league phase. Clubs will earn €2.1 million for every victory, while a draw will yield €700,000.

Financial rewards increase substantially as teams progress through the knockout rounds:

  • Round of 16 qualification: €11 million
  • Quarter-final qualification: €12.5 million
  • Semi-final qualification: €15 million
  • Final qualification: €18.5 million
  • Lifting the trophy: An additional €6.5 million champion's bonus

The 'Value Pillar' and maximum payouts

Beyond fixed sporting merit, UEFA has allocated €853 million toward what it designates as the "value pillar".

This metric combines two distinct criteria:

  • The commercial size of each participating club's domestic television broadcast market
  • Their individual 10 year historical coefficient ranking in European competition.

When aggregating participation fees, cumulative match bonuses, knockout progression rewards and value pillar distributions, the tournament winner can expect to collect around €110 million in total revenue from the campaign.
