2026 World Cup - Belgium: Jérémy Doku returns

Manchester City winger Jérémy Doku had left the Red Devils squad for a quick trip back to England.

With his son born yesterday in England, Jérémy Doku had departed Belgium’s 2026 World Cup camp to be present at the birth of his child. The team had even announced that the winger would miss the match against New Zealand due to a respiratory infection. But today, Doku is back on American soil.

According to the team’s X account, the Manchester City player made a lightning round trip and was warmly welcomed by his teammates at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, the squad’s four-star hotel. Hugs and smiles were seen all around as soon as he arrived at the base camp.
