The 2026 World Cup is drawing to a close, and the performance summary for African teams is now clear. Among the continent’s ten participants, Morocco leads the way with an impressive 7th place finish worldwide.

Behind the Atlas Lions, Egypt claims 15th place, ahead of Ivory Coast (19th), DR Congo (23rd), Ghana (24th), and South Africa (26th). Meanwhile, Algeria, knocked out in the round of 16, settles for 30th position, just ahead of Senegal (31st) and Cape Verde (32nd).

However, the continent’s biggest disappointment remains Tunisia. The Carthage Eagles finish a worrying 47th out of 48 participants. Now, all eyes turn to the final, where Argentina will face Spain for the world crown.
