The match at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpé ended 2-1. Benin strike hard to top Group F in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers ahead of Burkina Faso.

Aloko, man of the evening

After scoring the opening goal in the 31st minute following a pass from Charlemagne Azongnitoud and with a superb finish, Rodolfo Aloko added his second goal in the 46th minute, just after returning from the dressing rooms.

Mauritania fall back

Mauritania reduced the deficit in the 80th minute through Aboubakary Koita, who had previously scored against the Central African Republic in the 3-1 victory.

However, it was not enough for the Mourabitounes, who dropped to third place in Group F, behind Benin and Burkina Faso. Group F remains wide open, while the next international break appears set to be decisive and exciting in the race to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
