A Journey of Glory: Riyad Mahrez Reaches 100 Caps for Algeria

Riyad Mahrez marked his 100th international appearance for Algeria in their 3 - 1 victory over Botswana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Since his debut in 2014, the skillful winger has become talismanic figure for the Desert Foxes leading them to AFCON glory and leaving indelible mark on Algerian football.

• Match: Algeria 3 - 1 Armenia (31 May 2014) – Friendly in Sion, Switzerland.
• After joining Leicester City from Le Havre, Mahrez was called up by coach Vahid Halilhodžić for two pre World Cup friendlies. He made immediate impact providing 2 assist.

• Tournament: FIFA World Cup 2014 – Brazil.
