Senegalese football could soon see one of its rising stars take his shot in Europe. Mame Mody Sy, a 19-year-old forward trained at AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur, is reportedly on the verge of signing with Miedź Legnica, a club playing in Poland’s second division.

Having come through one of Senegal’s most renowned academies, the young player has built a solid reputation thanks to his attacking qualities and versatility. Able to play in several positions up front, he has already made his mark in the Senegalese league despite his youth.

An Africa U17 champion with Senegal, Mame Mody Sy also took part in the prestigious Generation Adidas Cup, where he wore the New York Red Bulls shirt as part of a special selection of young talents. His move to Poland would mark another major step in his development and a great opportunity to make his mark on the European stage.
