Abdoulie Manneh, Sanyang, Ceesay and Saine: four Gambians scored this weekend
Abdoulie Manneh, Sanyang, Ceesay and Saine: four Gambians scored this weekend

Abdoulie Manneh, Abdoulie Sanyang, Abdoulie Ceesay and Alagie Saine scored for their respective clubs on October 10 and 11, 2026. Between Sanyang’s winning goal against Dinamo Zagreb, Ceesay’s goal for St. Pauli and Saine’s brace against Silkeborg, the four Gambian internationals made their mark in European leagues.

Abdoulie Manneh played a part in Cercle Brugge’s victory over Anderlecht (2-1) on Saturday, October 10. The Gambian forward found the net in the match and contributed to his team’s success in the Belgian league.

Before joining the Belgian club in 2026, Manneh played for Mjällby in Sweden. During the 2025-2026 season, he scored seven goals and provided four assists in the league. He also played a part in the Swedish club’s historic season, when they were crowned champions for the first time, before winning the Swedish Cup in May 2026.

At 22, the forward is continuing his career in Belgium after his performances in Sweden. His goal against Anderlecht brought him into the spotlight at this new stage of his career.

Abdoulie Sanyang wins the derby for Hajduk Split

Abdoulie Sanyang scored the winning goal for Hajduk Split against Dinamo Zagreb (2-1) on Saturday. The Gambian winger, also known as Bamba Sanyang, made the difference in the 59th minute of the Croatian league derby.

Dinamo opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Dion Drena Beljo. Hajduk responded three minutes later with an own goal from Scott McKenna, before Sanyang put his side ahead in the second half.

This goal takes his league tally to two during the 2026-2027 season, according to the statistics cited. At 27, the former Grenoble player, who joined Hajduk Split in 2024, continues to contribute to the Croatian club’s attack.

Abdoulie Ceesay gives St. Pauli the lead against Karlsruhe

In Germany, Abdoulie Ceesay opened the scoring in FC St. Pauli’s victory over Karlsruhe (2-0) on Sunday, October 11. The Gambian centre-forward scored in the 32nd minute, before Lars Ritzka doubled the lead in the 51st minute.

This goal takes his league tally to two during the 2026-2027 season, according to the data provided. Aged 22, Ceesay had notably impressed in Estonia with Paide Linnameeskond, where he scored 13 league goals in 2024 while on loan.

Having previously played for Real de Banjul in Gambia, the forward joined St. Pauli in 2025. After experiencing the Bundesliga with the German club, he now plays in the second tier following the team’s relegation. His goal against Karlsruhe contributed to St. Pauli’s victory.

Alagie Saine scores a brace against Silkeborg

Alagie Saine scored twice in AC Horsens’ 3-3 draw away to Silkeborg on Sunday. The Gambian defender opened the scoring in the 8th minute, then equalised in the 90+4th minute to secure a point for his team.

Horsens had taken a two-goal lead through Saine and Jakob Bonde. Silkeborg then turned the match around with three second-half goals from Oliver Ross. Just as the hosts appeared to be heading for victory, Saine scored the equaliser in stoppage time.

This brace is particularly noteworthy for a player who operates in defence. According to the data cited, he had not yet scored in the league during the 2026-2027 season before this match. Under contract with Horsens since July 2023, the 23-year-old defender also has seven caps for Gambia.

The four internationals therefore found the net in different circumstances: Manneh and Ceesay scored in victories for their teams, Sanyang secured success for Hajduk Split in the derby against Dinamo Zagreb, while Saine helped Horsens avoid defeat with his brace.
