After Turbulent Months: Ismael Bennacer’s message on Algeria comeback

Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer has expressed his joy at returning to the national team setup as the Desert Warriors hold their preparatory camp in Saudi Arabia ahead of two friendly fixture this month.

The 27 year old last featured for Algeria in June missing several months due to uncertainty surrounding his club situation including his departure from AC Milan & subsequent move to Dinamo Zagreb.

Speaking to Algerian media from Jeddah on Wednesday night, Bennacer said he was thrilled to be back with the squad and eager to contribute to the team’s objectives under head coach Vladimir Petkovic.

"I’m very happy to be back with the national team. I want to be part of the group that aims to win the next two friendly" Bennacer said.

"The atmosphere is great and we’re working hard"

The Dinamo Zagreb midfielder praised the positive mood within the camp and underlined the players determination to continue building momentum under Petkovic.

"Everything is going well with the coach. We’re working hard in training and the atmosphere is fantastic" he added. "Being with the Algerian national team is always special for me. I’ll do everything I can to perform at my best"

Focus on Zimbabwe and a message for Belaili

Looking ahead to Algeria’s next friendly against Zimbabwe, Bennacer stressed that the team remains committed to delivering strong performance despite the non competitive nature of the match.

"We’ll play to win, even if it’s only a friendly" he said firmly.

Before wrapping up, Bennacer took moment to send emotional message to his injured teammate Youcef Belaili who is recovering from serious injury.

"Poor guy, we all support him. I wish him speedy recovery and hope he returns to his best form soon"
